Social distancing? Us too. We all have a lot more time on our hands, and there’s only so long we can scroll on Instagram before we start going crazy. In an effort to make the most of this extra time, we’ve listed some of the places in our homes that could do with a deep clean.
Oven
When was the last time you cleaned your oven? Don’t worry, we can’t remember either, but now is the perfect time to get it done. Use Dominant Oven & BBQ Cleaner on a pre-heated oven and leave it on the oven surfaces for up to an hour, to work on stubborn grease and grime. Scrub with a scourer and rinse with hot water. Take a well-deserved Netflix break.
Top tip: soak oven racks in hot water with Booster and Soak to make your job easier.
Grout
Sure, getting down on your hands and knees to scrub grout isn’t the most glamorous job, but think of the shiny floor you’ll be rewarded with. Mix half a scoop of Booster and Soak in 500mL of warm water and spray over the area. Leave the solution on for up to an hour and then scrub the grout with an old toothbrush. Rinse off the solution and wipe dry with a cloth. Good work, Cinderella!
Windows
We’re all spending a lot of time staring out our windows so they might as well be clean. Our Glass & Chrome Cleaner is an undisputed window cleaning champion, and works beautifully paired with a microfibre cloth. Just spray and wipe for streak-free glass. Outside windows are typically dirtier so start by rinsing off the dirt with a hose and then follow with Glass & Chrome Cleaner.
Top tip: Don’t forget to clean your window screens! Depending on how long since they’ve been cleaned (no judgement) they might need a quick vacuum with a brush head, or to be taken off, washed with soapy water and rinsed.
Dishwashers
Dishwashers do so much for us, don’t they deserve a nice clean now and then to keep them in tip-top shape? To give your dishwasher a deep clean, use a product like our Dishwasher Descaler. All you have to do is clean out the waste filter in your dishwasher, add Dishwasher Descaler to the detergent dispenser and run a normal cycle while empty. While you’re at it, wipe the door seals to get rid of any grime with a damp cloth. Lastly, wipe the door of your dishwasher with All Purpose Cleaner, or Stainless Steel Finish if (you guessed it) it’s stainless steel. Job done.
Fridges
Do you ever grab a sauce out of the fridge only to see it went out of date in 2017? It’s time for a deep fridge clean. Sort through what you want to keep and what has expired and turned to mush in your crisper drawer (throw that out). Take out all the removable parts from your fridge and give them a good wash in warm soapy water. Now take your trusty microfibre cloth and our All Purpose Spray to wipe down the inside of the fridge and get rid of grotty food splatters. Put everything back together and marvel at your lovely, clean fridge. Well done, you.
Top tip: wipe down jars and containers before you put them back into the fridge to avoid messing up your hard work.
