Why should we avoid Sodium Lauryl Sulphate in our personal care products?

Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS) or Sodium Laureth Sulphate (SLES) are ingredients used in personal care products such as soaps, hand and body wash, toothpastes, and shampoos. They are added as an ingredient to personal care products to make them foam, or bubble up.

SLS and SLES can cause irritation of the skin and eyes. They have been known to cause dry, flaky, itchy, or cracked skin, along with scalp itchiness.

Prolonged use of a product that contains SLS/SLES can make skin more sensitive over time as the foaming action of SLS/SLES can remove natural oils from the skin, causing it to become dryer and more sensitive.

All Dominant personal care products are free of any harmful SLS or SLES ingredients. They instead use natural foaming agents derived from coconut extracts.

These are gentle on the skin and can be used by people with any skin type, especially sensitive.
